@oxblood Does this story sound plausible? Cuz if so that's some next-level bureaucracy.
@matrix @dave @oxblood this shit happens constantly. I know of one incident that I know of where one woman refused to do work and change diapers for a client and a male had to change a female client. This had caused APS to get reported by the woman who refused to do work on the male. Luckily nothing happened because APS understood the situation was stupid in the first place.

Generally you need to put your foot down and call people retards when this happens. It's worse if people find out protocol got in the way of protecting someone getting injured or sick than to get into trouble for breaking a rule.
@dave @matrix yeah they should have standard cleaners and a few trained in bio hazard

anyone who knows their rights will refuse unless they have bio haz training

I would bet its due to short staffing and only a handful of people employed with the training (which is stupid because you would think in a hospital, most cleaners would have it)
@dave @matrix personally I would have just done it - in carework I handle poop almost daily and don't need to do any biohaz training. especially because they know the patient it's from so know their health records

@matrix

Ah, bureaucracy. So many rules that nothing can get done. Unions just make it worse of course.

@matrix sounds about right from time working there was a shitshow
@matrix I did cleaning/maintenance in a hospital in my late teens. You make $8/hr at max and are instructed day one and every day after that you do not, under any circumstances, with or without gloves, handled biological waste (that includes needles, shit, urine, vomit, etc). You get fired if you do.

I have literally left steaming shit and adult diapers in trash bins. The nurses can cry all day long about it, I'm not getting fired, and I"m also not scooping up shit for $8/hr lmao.

I'm not even going to get started on the catty personality type that gravitates toward the profession of nursing.
@tengumatingpress @matrix My negative opinions about women were shaped by actually interacting with them. Professionally and socially.

Crazy! I know.
@MrBones @matrix I don't trust anyone whose contempt for women comes from speculative nonsense like evopsych, it's only legitimate if they've sort of interacted with them
@matrix do you have your cleaning up shit loicense??
