Unfortunately, it is much more complicated than that.
Eurocrats have powerful propaganda machine on their side. Objectively, it would be much better to keep European Union as a free trade zone/non-visa but that would limit their influence.

Take "Treaty of Lisbon", 2009 referendum in Ireland - it failed first time, so they just boosted propaganda and repeated it.

Nice thing about war in Ukraine, is that it is the greatest leverage against german position in European Union since its beginning. Nothing more to say, we can just open beer and watch.

@xue @matrix Crushing outliers has more to do with the rest not getting any ideas. It's far from the main event. Much like the new proxy wars opened up from Turkey to China.

Poland wont leave EU anytime soon, because the amount of cope and seethe would be unbearable burden for any type of ruling power

@xue @matrix Color revolution for Hungary leading to Poland losing its last voting support in the EU. The US media is even starting to call them part of the "Axis of Evil" this Sunday. Choosing between funds and heat is a hard choice, but the real issue is being willful and not doing what Brussels demands even has it destroys your country. Poland may chose to leave the EU to maintain its culture and laws in that event.

NATO and the EU will fall apart, and it's just a question of who will leave first. No one cares about visas if the other nations have no production or fuel.
