@PonyPanda @matrix basically, the czech internet is tiny and starved for any kind of content since everyone is either a normie, an old fuck or hidden in such obscure corners of the net(or in comment sections of news websites where they get jannied sooner or later) they have no way to ever expand beyond their filthy, spiderweb-ridden part of the network. Well, the last time I checked it was that way at least.
Anyway, since there's so few people out there with a spark of soul, the few motherfuckers who can actually hold up a show of any sort are borderline revered, and this guy is one of them. I think he fills the "edgy videogame streamer" niche? I never checked any of his streams but he used to be a let's player like a decade ago whose gimmick was that he swore a lot so that seems like a logical evolution.

@nukie @PonyPanda Yeah he's probably the only entertaining Czech streamer, but I think that you're not being fair, everyone can swear but can you do that for 8 hours a day while keeping the swears creative and disguising serious topics or the video games you are playing at the same time?

this saddens me. I always thought Czechs were super creative, artistic and entertaining. I've only read a little but I like Milan Kundera (and that's saying something because I have a reputation for being a commie.)

It's kind of bullshit how Czechs came out with Factorio and edgy racist streamers like Destiny can make content off it but not Czechs.

@PonyPanda @matrix I'm not sure how we got left behind either. I'm thinking about it right now and I came up with a few reasons why it's the case, but none of them hold up.
There's a bit of a stigma associated with being an e-celeb, and with the internet in general, but it's not nearly strong enough to be a barrier. We have decent internet speed in most places, or at least a usable speed, so it can't be that either. I see plenty of czeggers around the net, even in the most obscure nooks of the english-speaking part of the network, so it can't be that. Plenty of creative or at least funny people kicking in the real world too, and some of then even own an internet-compatible device with a keyboard, so equipment isn't an issue.
I really can't come up with a reason. Maybe I just don't interact with enough people to know the feelings of the general public on this issue.

@PonyPanda @matrix the modern internet is just too USA-pilled by design, you'd need a great firewall of europe to change any of it
@cope @PonyPanda @matrix that's not actually true. Germany, Poland, Romania, even Slovakia have relatively active local internets and every colonial nation's internet sphere is huge. Asians also have gigantic bubbles, you just don't see them very often because of algorithms and some such
