@matrix nah many they've been pushing reqs for decades, I haven't had a PC as long as this one and it still runs newer games okay.

@cereal Yeah, I don't think this part of the meme is correct. The boomer shooters we are all fond of were marvels of engineering, but still required top of the line hardware.
It's just that photogrammetry is really taking now and Nvidia has been cheaping out on VRAM, so suddenly it's a shock we don't have enough of it.
@bonifartius @cereal You can play today's games on under powered hardware too.
I was more referring to Doom needing a 486 to run at 35FPS.
@matrix @cereal i did play HL1 on a k5? with 100 MHz in 320xsomething software rendering. the minimal specs were 133MHz :) still worked, still had fun!
