for eigo the "go" part means "language"

@hj @matrix eigo is the language. The Japanese just name UK/British stuff "English" quite like we'd say "anglo".
@hj @matrix Also Wiktionary says igirisu comes from Inglês (Portuguese), explains why it's quite awkward.
