The Japanese have a disgusting obsession with putting ketchup on shit.
The ketchup thing might be a WWII left over, but curry beef over tonkatsu is one good dish to come out of occupied Japan.
They used to have a Western Food restaurant in Seattle ran by Japanese. It wasn't that bad, but the other izakaya options were much better.
