I tried starlink out and it gave me the most average internet ever. But at least it's (probably) more consistent in the woods than the ONE 5G tower everyone connects to here atm.

@matrix when I still lived in the city I had like 30MB/s download rates on steam... I will only see that again if they ever get their asses up and get me glasfiber here. But that seems to be away for at least another 2-3 years. If ever.

@teto wise move, my local gov has been promising sewage and asphalt street for the last 25 years.
sewage is 2/3 there, but it was supposed to be finished this year
@matrix elon made the starlink hardware "free" so I didnt really have any excuses anymore. If I do get glasfiber one day, I can just cancel and send the dish back. Ezpz.

@matrix yeah you can get the thing for 29 euros/month now. Telekom is ripping off hard in comparison to that. I did get the 50 euro one though.
