I always had issues with Windows Explorer, it freezes if I even think about opening a folder with more than ten images, and good luck getting it to generate thumbnails before the sun explodes.
Half the reason I moved to Linux was because I was desperate for a file manager that didn’t make me question my life choices. Dolphin just flies through directories, previews every file format under the sun, and somehow still lets me tweak panel layouts like I’ve got OCD for efficiency.
I didn’t try any other DEs because, honestly, Dolphin already spoiled me. I took a peek at Explorer again out of curiosity… and immediately remembered why I left.
Dolphin Just Works™ and more importantly, it does so without gaslighting me about admin permissions. It’s KDE’s killer feature, imo.
