Gab is mostly just conservative boomers. It's is pretty boring. It's the media who hyped it up.

Dear instance admins,
I do not recommend blocking Gab. Block individual users if they are a problem, even Gab has some cool people on it.
Even if you must block Gab, I definitely do not recommend blocking instances for the sole reason that they do block Gab as well.
I hope you are realizing you are creating a massive split in the fediverse by doing so, especially to the apolitical instances like the one I'm posting this from, we do not block Gab or any other instance.
We were wrong, the #tusky app isn't censoring. Apparently, "This is not censorship, but rather a choice by this house".
Here we thought someone else choosing what we get to read and see was the definition of censorship - but apparently .. it's.. not? #confusion

Story time:
I don't remember exactly how I got here, but it was probably thanks to Torba banning loli and mentioning Mastodon.
I went through many of the instances on joinmastodon.org and found all of them were shit, so I made my own and then started following random people from public timelines of the instances on joinmastodon.org and their admins. I didn't know other software and instances not listed there existed.
@maloki as much as I hate Gab and their principles, collateral damage (f.ex. blocking mstdn.io) is harmful for Fediverse more than for Gab.
In the end, fascists will simply tear Fediverse apart with your hands
I'm the joke, but you're the punchline.
I run this website. I like posting funnies and fugging lolis.
