@Majkatsu That's why I'm reading it, because I see nothing fascist in the movie (only the uniforms). At best it's a parody of WW2 US.

I don't know about the other movies, but the first movie shows nothing like that.
The bugs declare war on humans, because a tiny fraction of humanity ignored the Federation's recommendations and violated the territory of the bugs.
It also shows that the bugs they kill in the entire movie are mindless killing machines.

I'm currently reading the book, but I'm only in the sixth chapter so I can't really say anything yet.
