The American opposition to national ID cards is hilarious, one side is against them because they violate freedumb, somehow unlike every other way you're tracked; the other side is convinced that its voter base is too stupid to get or use one, and this amounts to "voter suppression"

I prefer uploading stuff from my phone over cellular because it's almost 2 times as fast as my home upload speed and it doesn't bog down the connection

That's why I only use cloud for files I don't actually care that much about and it's just more comfortable to have them in the cloud.
Nextcloud also offers file encryption, but I don't have that setup.

This ended up being a issue with my Nginx config on Minio, not with Nextcloud, but if you don't want to share the files and don't want to sync notes, it's easier just to get a NAS. You need to fiddle around with lot of shit to make Nextcloud usable.
