The alt-right latched onto him for a while until he said he liked Jews, the manosphere latched onto him until he said he liked women. It gets hard to dissociate him from his fans or bad takes about him. It's like a Monty Python (or Rick and Morty would be more current, I guess) situation, the fans have a way of ruining it.
