The normalization of anime during the last two to three decades is probably one of the best things to happen to art and culture in the west

it helped further break down the stupid cultural barriers to what is considered art, and how art can be used, which paved the way for a lot of recent ideas

anyone who is still uptight about cultural influences is, frankly, stupid anyways

all of that stuff drips down, it doesn't matter how obstinate you wanna be about something new (read: actually new, not slapping new paint on something tried and true) because you will be consuming it eventually even if you don't realize it
