you know what i take it back av1 is actually pretty nice but holy shit is it slow
my guess is my previous encoding attempt many months ago i used the wrong downscaler which introduced ringing artifacts which in turn bloated the size, that and i fumbled around using a faster encoder instead of the incredibly slow reference one (this encoded at ~25fps at 56x42)
