@Ene @Kyonko802 The marriage one is especially evil. For once in a blue moon, Western women might receive some sort of positive message, so of course we can't have that! Gotta instead promote a message that could encourage single motherhood instead.

Nail leftist localizers to a cross by their balls.
@ChristiJunior @Ene @Kyonko802 I caught that. Evil shit. Pushing an agenda-filled worldview. Their view in place of the original.
@RehnSturm256 @ChristiJunior the more i think about it, the more pissed off i get

leeching off others' works like that is just so low. what a fucking miserable parasite

@lapin I do translation work, so I notice this sort of shit immediately. There's an old joke that translations are like women: either pretty or useful, rarely both.
For languages that have such a sharp difference in the linguistic corpus as Japanese <-> English, this is extremely obvious. It's the reason why I can spot this shit from a mile away and why I've become a translator for fan projects out of pure hateful spite. Faithful translations are complicated, especially with things that have to bridge a difficult cultural gap. Trying to translate something like Skyrim or Oblivion into Japanese will be difficult; many of the concepts have no direct translation, and the constructed ones often are subpar. It's really one of those things where I wish I was blissfully ignorant because you see it everywhere once you know. @ChristiJunior @RehnSturm256

@picandor @ChristiJunior @RehnSturm256 i see your point, but the one i was talking of was neither a translation NOR a localization

the localizer obviously disagrees with the notion of "marriage is a woman's greatest happiness!", which is ABSOLUTELY fine. disagree with whatever the fuck you want.

but it's the fact that they changed it and made the character say what they WANTED the character to say. it's that absolute unprofessionalism that i detest so much.
