I have an interesting tendency where I'm more willing to buy hardware for games, than to actually but games. I guess it's because no matter what hardware I buy, I can always find different games for it. But if I buy a game, I either like it or I don't. So it feels like hardware can't be a waste of money, but games can.

Of course, that argument is automooting because I end up with a bunch of hardware, and no games, so it _is_ a waste of money :P

I just wish that hardware wasn't becoming such spyware these days. Between Intel ME, AMD PSP, Microsoft Pluton, etc you can't buy a CPU or a GPU without having to see all the ways you're getting screwed. 20 years ago new hardware was a fun experience.
