Found it pretty easy. Went to Minds.com, found a link for apps at the bottom and on that page listed a link to download from Minds.com instead of the Play Store:
I did try that first yes but my browser kept redirecting me to Google Play store, I did manage to find a work around though, it seems Google are determined to get folk to download through the app stores, cheers anyway.
I use deGoogled operating systems such as DivestOS and GrapheneOS so that may play a part. I don't even have the Play Store on my phone for my browser to direct me to.
