If Google was planning to let you run Chrome OS off your Android device, would you do it?
You can do it right now with a bit of tinkering, eg here's my Pixel 8 Pro hooked up to an external monitor running Chromium OS in a VM, but there's no official route to do so yet.

No I wouldn't. If I were to install an alternate OS on my Android device I would try to use something like PostmarketOS or Mobian. If those didn't work my next options would be Ubuntu Touch, Droidian, GrapheneOS, DivestOS, or /e/ OS. ChromeOS simply doesn't interest me. I'm trying to move away from Google not closer.
