Get rid of all the annoying tracking information added by YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc. if you use them at all - the stuff they add after the "?" (question mark) in the URL.
Also remove them when you find a link somewhere else and the poster included the tracking info.

Screw sanitizing the links. Flat out stop using the services. There are privacy friendly alternatives for all of them.
I'm well aware of that and have been a very early adopter, but tons of content is still only on the big platforms...
