So it seems like there are a lot of people that I'm following are on the huge servers like mastodon.social, and to me, this is a shame. One of the great things about Mastodon is the federated nature and having small communities deciding on their own what type of content you want to see.

I especially supersized since most people I follow are technical and should have no issue setting up their own server, even a pleroma server.

I would, but I like being part of linux.rocks community .

@publiclewdness I don't think it is herd mentality here, it is just what is easiest, most of the big servers you don't have to do any verification.
