A couple of months ago, I deleted my Discord server, which had around 100 members and served multiple purposes. Its most recent role was a community space for my #FreeSoftware videos. I've since replaced it with a Matrix room and don't regret my decision.

I believe Discord is not suitable for hosting our communities, and I'll follow projects that move to setups respecting our freedom, as envisioned by Richard Stallman.

It's a challenging process, but I'm confident we can make the transition.

@darth

I wish more people would follow your actions. Good for you.

@frameworkcomputer

How goes the work of getting the Framework laptops to use Coreboot ? Doing so would help limit the Intel ME and the AMD PSP which would improve anonymity given their basically black boxes.

@darth

Good choice. I dislike Fosstodon's practice of blocking so many instances which censors which content their users can see. I wouldn't go back to them even if they would have me which I doubt they would.

I tried OpenSuse on my RockPro64 and it worked with one hitch. I can't choose to have full disk encryption enabled. if I do it doesn't recognize any keyboard I have plugged in and I can't type in my FDE password. If I choose to not use FDE then it boots into the user login screen by which time my keyboard works. It took a bit of getting used to OpenSuse in terms of their package manager and other bits but I could see this being my main choice of distro on my RockPro64. FDE may not work properly on it right now but many distros don't even give the option for FDE on ARM64 so it's a step in the right direction.

16GB RAM and 128GB EMMC bring the price to $406 CAD/299 USD for those interested. I don't like Ubuntu but I would take it over AOSP. Not a ton of distro options on RISC-V yet. I could see myself getting this tablet as well as their RISC-V laptop.
