Which open-source messaging apps would you try if more people used them?

There's one type of app for which I haven't found anything satisfactory on the #Pinephone, and that's a photo gallery app.

GNOME Photos is unusable. I tried Koko and Pix but these two KDE apps have issues on Phosh.

I ended up using Eye of GNOME as I discovered a gallery strip showing thumbnails at the bottom can be enabled.

On Manjaro, Megapixel's DNG (raw) files were showing black thumbnails, EoG does not seem to support this format. On #postmarketOS, DNG files seem to be filtered out. 👍

Which made me switch from ManjaroARM Phosh.

* The system is nimble
* It contains the most apps of all current mobile distros, allowing me to reduce my reliance on flatpaks
* Their stance on FOSS, and on proprietary social media platforms
* They're actually present on the Fediverse, not through a birdsite bot account

I'm not a systemd hater, but it comes with openrc instead. Unfortunately it makes one app I'm interested in incompatible, wake-mobile.
