We've been so busy, we almost forgot to say hello! Meet the newest members of our crew, who joined in 2021. With a mix of experience & perspectives to enhance Collabora's mission, we're thrilled to now call them colleagues. Get to know them: openfir.st/newfaces #OpenSource

Oh, boy. Take a look at this. The humvees are rolling out all over DC.

The fake hysteria mounts. Dump trucks are lining up at exits along the Beltway.

All this dramatic theater is just ridiculous and exhausting. WE THE PEOPLE are the ones who need to be protected from the sociopaths in Washington DC. Yet here they are, projecting as narcissists always do and acting as if THEY'RE in some kind of danger. A pox on them!

While we sympathize that this war may not affect your own views or opinion on the matter, the fact is, your authoritarian government is committing human rights abuses

Namecheap is choosing to kick these people while they are down. Their decision to restrict people who happen to be in Russia from participating online will necessarily impact innocent people who have no real means to institute change.

There is no good done by censoring people who live in authoritarian or corrupt regimes. In a sane response would be to provide dissidents the tools to speak freely to undermine the tyrants. This action only serves to promote centralized information control and undermine people’s rights worldwide. As a Canadian the last thing to be done when my government is committing crimes to make bringing them to light impossible.

Why wasn’t this considered to prevent state-sanctioned harmful lockdowns, mandatory injections, and the outlawing of protests in Canada? It’s clearly not about defending human rights, but about fragmenting the internet to undermine free speech (which many forget IS a human right)

Why would you use Talk over a separate solution? The key reasons are integration and efficiency, but security also benefits.

Won’t doesn’t mean they can’t. Isn’t the point of using cryptocurrency / smart contracts that there is no single actor who decides? Something to keep in mind if #Odysee faces a different political challenge.

We are very excited to welcome the makers of Naishio (combining end-to-end encryption with CRDT's) and Hyper Hyper Space (secure append-only distributed data layer) to our webinar March 8 on CRDT's! To avoid more acronyms: conflict-free replicated data types are important for real-time collaborative note applications, streaming apps & many more services that do not rely on a centralized (and tracker-heavy) service provider. Check it out! -> nlnet.nl/events/20220308/CRDT/

Just released 2.0 of my small tool "Audio Sharing". The interface got adapted to the new Adwaita design.

Oh and it also includes some "bug fixes and improvements"™️!
