Do you want to use Mastodon entirely through keyboard commands?
Here are some options:
-The standard Mastodon web interface includes lots of keyboard shortcuts, you can see them all by pressing the ? key while logged in (or by clicking on "Hotkeys" at the bottom left corner of the screen)
-There's a web-based minimalist client for Mastodon called Brutaldon, you can log into it with your existing Mastodon account at https://brutaldon.org. It supports text-based browsers such as Lynx.
-Toot is an app for Linux computers that lets you use Mastodon through a command line interface, more info at https://toot.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html
(NOTE: "Toot" is nothing to do with the similarly-named "Toot!" Mastodon app for iPhone)
You might have noticed that Pixelfed only sends account verification and password reset emails.
Or the lack of real-time notifications and those familiar notification sounds.
And how you have to refresh the timeline to see new posts.
These small details are intentional.
If we did implement these un-healthy aspects, we would be no better than Instagram #pixelfed #beEthical
Fun fact, 16MB SPI upgrades also works perfectly on X230 Tablet. I have several in stock.
Which I now sell, on https://minifree.org ! Debian GNU+Linux. 16GB RAM and your choice of 240 or 960GB SSD. Osboot installed, replacing proprietary BIOS with coreboot. Free as in freedom!
I previously wrote about 16MB SPI flash for X230 in this post: https://mas.to/@libreleah/107945639187383193
I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
