Do you hold the keys to your systems? We live in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent society. Many people have realized over the past few years just how dependent they have been on outsourced infrastructure and supplies. Find a balance, and don't keep all your eggs in one basket, to be truly free and secure. Read the new thought-piece by @kyle. https://puri.sm/posts/security-self-sufficiency/
Democrat Mazie Hirono says the DOJ sent a letter in 2013 that states the sentencing guidelines for pedophiles “do not accurately reflect the current landscape of child pornography conduct” and uses this as part of her justification for Jackson’s lenient child abuse sentences.
So essentially, Mazie agrees with the DOJ that the sentencing guidelines for pedophiles are too harsh. Is anyone surprised?

As you may have seen, @pixelfed has made changes to its software so that it is now compatible with most Mastodon apps.
This means (if the new feature is working correctly!) you can log into your PixelFed account on a Mastodon app, as long as your PixelFed instance has updated to the latest version of the software. Ask your instance admin if you're not sure.
The Mastodon app compatibility is brand new so it may have bugs. The PixelFed team has asked people to let them know if they have any problems.
Alternatively, there's a dedicated PixelFed app for Android called @PixelDroid which is available from @fdroidorg. There's a guide for installing F-Droid at https://switching.software/replace/google-play
Also, there's an official dedicated PixelFed app on the way for Android and iOS, though it hasn't been released yet.

We love free software. With much thanks to the talented @SachaChua for illustrating the reasons. See https://www.sachachua.com/blog/ for emacs news and more!
I'm very happy for this release and will likely be my new "go to" Linux distro that I recommend and install on customer's computers.
I've been using and recommending the normal edition of Linux Mint for quite a while, too. (I do also use other Linux distros, such as #voidlinux and others).
LMDE 5 promises to be a rock solid stable distro that will work well for most people, including people new to Linux.

I'm watching @distrotube on #LBRY talk about #LinuxMint #Debian Edition 5.

Anyone know if Derek's videos are mirrored on a #peertube server? I still actively use and like LBRY, but am actively using other #BigTech alternatives, too.

I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
