Purism Differentiator Series, Part 3: Operating System!
Building an Operating System that avoids Big Tech allowed us to build out a new convergent operating system that could work across all our products that does not spy on the user where we release all the source code so it is peer-reviewable.

One thing I like about Arch Linux is how you can seemingly recover from any fuckup no matter how bad.
I bricked my system by hibernating in the middle of installing upgrades. But my prepared installation USB stick didn't even work because the partition had the wrong label, dropping me into a rescue shell.
Without access to a secondary computer, I had no choice but to try and symlink the nonexistent partition to the correct place allowing me to boot the installation stick to in turn fix my actual install.
I feel like an absolute hackerman.

🎙️ Compared to last year, we decided to do the podcast inside the cafeteria instead of outside, and on Sunday instead of Saturday. Twice the amount of FOSDEM days to talk about, and with more people talking in the background. Enjoy!

I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
