Australia passes 'dystopian' digital ID bill amid public outcry

The new legislation faces significant opposition over privacy concerns and fears it could lead to an Orwellian 'social credit' system.

Strawberries - Natural Mouth Care
Toss out those whitening strips! Our ancestors figured it out centuries ago.
Throughout history, the strawberry has been recognized and utilized for its remarkable properties in promoting dental hygiene. Ancient civilizations, including the Egyptians and Romans, discovered the unique benefits of this delectable fruit for oral care.
In ancient Egypt, strawberries were treasured for their ability to cleanse and whiten teeth. Egyptians would often rub ripe strawberry slices directly onto their teeth and gums, harnessing the fruit's natural acids and enzymes to remove stubborn tartar and stains. This practice not only improved oral hygiene but also enhanced their smiles' aesthetic appeal.
The Romans, known for their penchant for luxurious lifestyles, also recognized the dental benefits of strawberries. They attributed the fruit's effectiveness to its high vitamin C content, which helped combat gum inflammation and strengthen the overall oral health. Roman physicians and scholars documented the use of strawberries as a natural remedy for various dental ailments, including bad breath and gingivitis.
As time progressed, strawberries continued to be celebrated for their dental virtues. In the Middle Ages, European herbalists and physicians prescribed strawberries as a remedy for mouth ulcers, bleeding gums, and even toothaches. These early practitioners understood the fruit's astringent properties and its ability to soothe oral discomfort. That astringent property they were seeking comes from Malic acid naturally occurring in the strawberries.
Fast forward to the modern era, and most modern whiteners and strips still use Malic acid to do their work. Strawberry extracts remain a popular ingredient in oral care products. Their gentle yet effective action on removing surface stains and plaque has made them a favorite among individuals seeking a more natural approach to oral hygiene.
To make your natural whitener, crush the strawberry to a pulp, then add a half teaspoon of baking soda and mix into a paste. Use a soft toothbrush to spread the mixture onto your teeth. Leave on for 5 minutes, then brush thoroughly with your regular toothpaste to remove the mixture. Then rinse. (A little floss will help get rid of any strawberry seeds.) The need for after-brushing is to rinse the Malic acid as well as the natural sugar of the strawberry off your teeth.
From ancient civilizations to contemporary dental care, the strawberry's historical uses for dental hygiene continue to inspire and influence oral care practices. Its legacy as a powerful ally in maintaining a healthy and radiant smile lives on, reminding us of the enduring wisdom found in nature's bountiful offerings.
