Can't join #GUADEC (events.gnome.org/event/209/) this year but at least I can watch the live stream on a 📱 running a #gtk based shell (#phosh) and lots of #gnome components with a video player using GTK and #gstreamer (#livi). Life could be worse.

Can any :nixos: #NixOS or network guru please help me figure out how to make a simple standalone (=no connection sharing / no internet) wifi hotspot on a :raspberrypi: #RaspberryPi Zero 2 W *specifically* with @NetworkManager ?

UPDATE: Allow UDP ports 67&68 (DHCP), then it works. ✅

Since everyone is an expert on UI design this week, here’re my takes:

1. If floating panels are here for “more space”, why do they extend to full height even when there’s no content?
2. Popup opens far away from it button

If you ever wondered what Github would feel like if it was faster, you can try: codeberg.org/dnkl/foot (repo just for example)

This week's donation went to Guido Günther also known as "agx". He is a developer who contributes to Phosh, the Linux kernel, Modem Manager, and more. Basically if you are using a mobile device and running Linux and Phosh on it then he is one of the people trying to make your experience better.

He has a profile at Github:

He has a website here:

He has a presence on the Fediverse:

If you wish to help him financially he accepts donations through Liberapay as well as Github Sponsors:

The Linux Libre kernel has been updated to version 6.10. A whole bunch more blobs had to be removed to keep it fully libre. This continues to be one of the best kernels to use if privacy and security are your top concerns as it keeps closed source blobs to a miniumum that do God knows what.

The main website for the project is located here:

https://www.fsfla.org/ikiwiki/selibre/linux-libre/

A good writeup of the release can be found here at 9-5 Linux:

The release notes for this update are available here:
