Wow, Firefox by default applies DNS encryption over HTTP, to protect you from your evil ISP watching what sites you check. But you know who they use to resolve the DNS request? No other than fucking Cloudfare! So in effect, Cloudfare sees everything about the sites you visit when you use Firefox. Thanks Mozilla, but I'd rather trust my ISP than Cloudfare in that case. And cherry on the cake, they enable this by default, without opt-in request. The "champions of the Free Web" are the worst
Hello! This is our new place in the fediverse - make sure to check https://linuxphoneapps.org if you are into #LinuxMobile and use #postmarketOS, #Mobian, #DanctNIX, #MobileNIxOS or one of the other great distirbutions!
We just moved to this new instance (and @linuxphoneapps will follow with moving to @linuxphoneapps later today). Let's hope it will serve us as a solid new home for a long, long time! :-)
TOR doesn't collect your data at all, unlike #Google #Chrome https://u.fsf.org/46s
Tried to run "guix pull" on my VisionFive2 board with the configured offloading. Everything went smoothly at first but then the Guix daemon on my main x86_64 machine went down with a SEGFAULT; I tried to restart it, but it failed with SEGFAULT again. Had to reboot the system to fix that. Not sure why it happened.
Then I tried to build the rest of the packages on VisionFive2 and found out that OpenSSL 1.1.1l tests fail as is shown on the attached screenshot.

I usually use Plank for a dock. Can anybody who uses Guix recommend a replacement ? Guix doesn't seem to have Plank or the Mate Dock Applet. I could switch to XFCE if I need to as it has a built in dock but would prefer to stick with mate if I can.

One thing that bothered me since some time is that for switching between different 🎶 players required to🔓 the 📱 .
So e.g. pausing #gnome podcasts to listen to music via #gapless needed ever so many steps. I've thus added a lockscreen plugin to #phosh that tracks all currently running media players that use #mpris and allows to interact with them.
This is all pretty rough still but I can hopefully brush it up for 0.48 (https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh/-/merge_requests/1729).
I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
