GhostBSD has released version 23.10.1. It's an OS out of Canada that is based on FreeBSD but put's it's own spin on things such as having the Mate desktop preinstalled and having a GUI installer among other things. This release updates the FreeBSD base system, adds the ability to manually set a static IP address; fixes various bugs; and more. The code is licensed using the BSD-3-Clause license. If you're looking to leave Windows or Mac OS for a more privacy and security friendly operating system then I can easily recommend GhostBSD.

The Linux Libre kernel has been updated to version 6.6. A whole bunch more blobs had to be removed to keep it fully libre. There is also new artwork for the mascot Freedo. This continues to be one of the best kernels to use if privacy and security are your top concerns as it keeps closed source blobs to a miniumum that do God knows what.

Now that I have X11 running on my #OpenBSD machines, I've begun working on an X11 implementation of my ilo system. This is my first real venture into writing for X11 directly, so it'll be an interesting learning experience.
