SAN FRANCISCO — Google has agreed to settle a $5 billion privacy lawsuit alleging that it spied on people who used the “incognito” mode in its Chrome browser - along with similar “private” modes in other browsers - to track their internet use.

I bet they sell it and such for more than what they just “paid”. Especially when FBI et al will pay a good bit for such “legal” spying, even before you get into using the same data for AI and algorithms. So like how many ways can they profit off that data? 🤔

#Instagram users should just switch to #Pixelfed. Seriously. The UI of Pixelfed is lighter and works very well without being authenticated (no login popup, etc.).

With a small user base (compared to IG), everytime I post the same photo on Pixelfed and IG, I get way more views (and comments !) on Pixelfed. It's quite fun. And the comments are really nice. The goal is not to spam my account.

UBports has released an update for their mobile OS Ubuntu Touch dubbed version "OTA-3 Focal". This update adds beta support for the PinePhone, PinePhone Pro, and PineTab / PineTab 2; switches the primary APN database provider to lineageos-apndbsupport; preliminary Snap support; and more. Some of the devices already had support for the older Xenial based Ubuntu Touch versions so it's good to see them, get support for the newer OS. Ubunutu Touch is a great option for those that want to escape Apple or Google. What it lacks in app support it makes up for in stability and ease of use. They have a GUI installer that is available in multiple formats and supports a lot of devices which makes getting Ubuntu Touch installed an easy task.
