For all of you Mastodon and Pixelfed experts out there; is it feasible to run a Mastondon instance, and/or Pixelfed instance at home and/or office? 🤔

I.e. it would not be reachable from the outside, but only push updates "upwards" and poll/fetch updates from "upstream"?

(Not sure I'd do this yet anyway, considering the fact that you still don't have "movable" accounts, last I checked, and I don't really feel like "re-locating" my Mastodon account.)

The judge who released the Missouri man out on a $20k bond who killed a mother & her daughter, is linked to Soros.

Shocker.

Judge Annette Llewellyn shockingly decided to let Monte Henderson walk free after he plowed through a woman & her daughter traveling at a whopping 70mph.

Llewellyn was handpicked by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner who was forced to resign for her leniency on crime.

Soros pumped tons of money into Gardner’s campaign including a $116,000 payment for her 2020 campaign.

My new spellcrafting system has a different approach to XP: each spell *component* gradually levels up every time you cast a spell it's used in, and when all of a spell's components are leveled up, you can level-up the spell. I didn't design it that way up front, it was just a clean solution that presented itself during UI coding.

Maybe I'll do something similar for non-magical skills. For example, many melee weapon skills are synergistic with chopping wood, hammering nails, digging, etc. So instead of combat you could do a bunch of manual labor to raise your weapon skills.

For character XP I'm probably going with quests, exploration, successful vampirism, and... injuring/defeating opponents in combat. Killing is rarely the goal and it shouldn't be rewarded. We'll keep track of the body count of course, but players can choose to see it as a good or bad thing.

Someone asked during Café Guix whether we could use Hoot to run bits of Guix such as importers in the browser, which would nicely complement Guix Packager.

I suppose we’re still far from it because of C bindings these modules depend on, such as Guile-Gcrypt and POSIX sockets (for the HTTP client). But maybe someday these interfaces could be implemented in JS/wasm to allow for seamless integration?

If you're looking for a privacy focused system I just put a Lenovo desktop up for sale on Ebay. It's a nice system for basic use with a Pentium dual core E5300, 4GB RAM; 500GB SSD; 2TB HDD, a GTX 750 Ti, and with Trisquel 11.01 on it. I will donate 10% of my net profits to Trisquel. I have it set to ship to Canada and the United States.
