This week's donation went to SBC Linux distro "Armbian". It is a distro that supports a wide range of devices on Arm64 as well as RISC-V. Depending on the device they have options based off Ubuntu and Debian and that use a wide range of desktop environments such as Gnome, Cinnamon, and XFCE. The code to Armbian is licensed using GPLv2.0.

The main website for the Armbian project is here:

The source code for Armbian is available on Github:

More disabled Canadians are speaking out against pressure to choose assisted suicide
Tracy Polewczuk, a Canadian woman who suffers from spina bifida, told CTV that she doesn’t want to die but that it ‘feels like we are being pushed towards the MAiD [assisted suicide] program instead of being given the help to live.’

Now in Effect: Iowa Law Prohibits Credit Card Codes to Track Firearms Purchases

The new law prohibits a financial institution operating in Iowa from requiring or assigning a firearms code that distinguishes a firearms dealer from any other retailer. “Firearms code” is defined as “a merchant category code approved by the international organization for standardization specifically for firearm dealers.” It is now also illegal to deny a transaction based solely on the acquirer’s assignment of a firearms code to the firearms retailer.

On April 11, the Senate passed HF2464 by a 45-0 vote. The bill was amended before passing in the Senate to remove the legal definition of “customer.” The House concurred by a vote of 73-24 on April 16. With Governor Kim Reynolds’ signature, the law went into effect July 1.

Under the law, government entities are prohibited from keeping a registry of privately owned firearms or the ownership of privately owned firearms.

We've been crazy about blackberries for decades and July is the big month. We don't mess with those thornless cultivated varieties. That would be much too easy. We go out into the prickly brambles and experience the full heat, the chiggers, the poison ivy. These travails add to the joy of tasting the true blackberry flavor. Don't forget, there's medicine in those leaves too.
