If you are looking to buy a new phone, consider #FLX1 from @furilabs. You can still run Android apps if you need to, but for most things you can use the same apps that you use on laptop (many of them adapted to fit on a smaller screen like I'm using Firefox right now). FuriOS is based on #Debian #Trixie. I have a Purism Librem 5, but most people in my circle find it very expensive/unaffordable, but FLX1 is very much comparable price to most Android phones of similar spec. #FreeSoftware.
Thanks to the bits and pieces collected by @isyourbrainFOSS we can now support the alert slider on the #Onplus6/6T to toggle #feedbackd's full/quiet/silent profiles.
This week's donation went to Emmanuel Bourg also known as "ebourg". They're a developer that contributes to Debian and Apache, among other projects.
They have a Github profile:
If you wish to help him financially he accepts donations through Github.
@publiclewdness The checkbox to encrypt the installation is only visible when selecting the automated options in the partitions module, such as Erase disk or Replace partition. When selecting Manual partitioning, the user must use a new partition—not edit an existing partition—to make the checkbox visible in the individual partition setup window.
Have you noticed that in the most recent .iso there is no option for full disk encryption during install ? The check box is simply not there on the page where you chose your disk and partitions. I booted up an earlier .iso and it was there. Did I just miss it or was it moved ?
My "Building an Alternative Ecosystem" post has understandably become a reference post for future #Budgie things for a long time now and still gets hits every day. I have been wanting to circle back to it to add a big dialog when you visit it the first time, as well as a preface on a group of the sections, indicating that it contains outdated info. Finally got around to that today. The content of the post remains the same.
Years have passed since that post and a lot has changed. Many options that were off the table back in 2021 have been on the table since the founding of @buddiesofbudgie. The ecosystem has evolved. Teams have changed. Plans for Solus have for obvious reasons not been plans for a long time. So some indicator of all of that is only a good thing in my opinion.

I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.
Many FOSS projects rely on donations. If you have money to spare but don't know which to donate to take a look at the above links on Ko-fi, Github, and Open Collective. Anything on there that I have sponsered or contributed to is something I have found to be worthy.
