I’m on the Fediverse because I don’t trust any social media site that isn’t owned by me.
Which is also why I run my own Fediverse server (atomicpoet.org).
If someone else owns the server, they can remove my posts. Or silence me. Or worse, claim ownership of my work.

Note that some of the background files shipped for desktops as jxl can be slow to resize on slower hardware as they are meant for desktop screen size.
It is recommended to use a proper size on e.g. the PinePhone as it can otherwise consume significant CPU resources after login.
