When I was younger I was very pro-free-speech, then around age 20 or so I became woke. Then I got cancelled and it snapped me out of it. It turned my whole world upside down.

@alex

When I was younger I was very pro-free-speech, then around age 20 or so I became woke. Then I got cancelled and it snapped me out of it.

There’s no guarantee of free-speech in the US except from our government. (even that has restrictions) You aren’t guaranteed free speech on internet platforms, nor are you shielded from the effects of what you have said. Was there a certain statement that got you cancelled or was it a number of things?

@nothingplanet Basically I agree with the radical feminist viewpoint that women face unique challenges on the basis of their sex, not gender identity.

@realcaseyrollins @nothingplanet Being a guy in a dress has basically negligible consequences. Women face issues because they're physically weaker than us and because they have wombs (the ability to make babies, which is something we consider a commodity).

Women spend hours putting on makeup and wearing sexualized clothing like high heels because they are positioned as lowly people in society. Makeup is oppressive. Imagine if men wore makeup. Imagine that everyone around you does it, and if you don't you're a freak. You have to literally paint your face, and it takes up to 2 hours every morning. It's no wonder women get paid less, they have to do a great job on top of a rigorous morning routine to make sure they look beautiful.

Would you like to wear makeup every day? I'm guessing not. So why would a man choose to wear makeup every day? This is really just an example, but there are 100 different ways people identify as trans, I don't even know where to begin deconstructing them all.

@alex @realcaseyrollins @nothingplanet Weakness is only an average issue though and many women are infertile :blobcatthink:

On makeup: Makeup isn't oppressive, but the culture surrounding it certainly can be. I am not quite sure if women would be viewed as "freaks" if they don't wear makeup...but likely they continue to wear makeup (even if they don't like it) because they are afraid of backlash if they don't...which is a different issue altogether...

On strength: Women being physically weaker leaves them vulnerable to physical attacks; the cowardly (who are really the only ones who will attack people anyways) will only attack people who are weaker than them. Women don't attack men as often as men attack women and that's probably because they know they probably get tossed around and beat up.

@realcaseyrollins @mewmew @alex

they probably get tossed around and beat up

Also, it ruins their makeup that they spend two hours putting on every day and then they have to run home in high-heels to re-apply it.

How is conforming to social pressures to avoid negative consequences “a different issue altogether”?
That *is* the issue: that’s how gender works!
‘You must do x for no good reason other than you’ll be punished if you don’t’.

I’m not sure what point you’re making re physical strength.

On makeup: I am theorizing that women are afraid of backlash for not wearing makeup, so the wear makeup, but in reality they wouldn't experience a whole lot of backlash from men for not wearing makeup, but of course they don't know that because they continue to wear makeup, just like the other women. If I'm right on this, women's fear of getting backlash for no makeup is completely different than actual pressure from men to put it back on when they take it off.

Strength: my point is that this is not an average issue

No. That’s not what you’re ‘theorizing’.
You’re merely missing the point.
As a woman who wears make up when she feels like it & not when she doesn’t, I know you’re not right.
That’s cause you missed the bloody point. Entirely.

@realcaseyrollins @mewmew @alex @nothingplanet

On strength: you’re ‘theorizing’ that men hit women because they can.
Genius.

@realcaseyrollins @mewmew @alex @nothingplanet

@Camille @mewmew @alex @nothingplanet Are you going to accept that I know what point I'm trying to make, or continue to project your own onto me? 🤔

There is no evidence you know what point you think you’re making. So no.

@realcaseyrollins @mewmew @alex @nothingplanet

We were done before you made a fool of yourself Casey. Run along.
