Which US general election scenario will produce to most anger, rage and salt?

Note, the last scenario is extremely low energy.

re: Which US general election scenario will produce to most anger, rage and salt?

@gladicouldnthelp 2 and 4 are impossible so I'd go with 1 (I would prefer 3 though).

@mewmew @gladicouldnthelp Biden's followers aren't passionate enough tho

re: Which US general election scenario will produce to most anger, rage and salt?

@realcaseyrollins @gladicouldnthelp no, but Trump supporters would be salty about losing and Bernie supporters would be salty about Biden getting the nomination

re: Which US general election scenario will produce to most anger, rage and salt?

@terryenglish @mewmew @p @gladicouldnthelp Depends on why they're salty. High sodium levels will be impossible to achieve without allegations of anti-Trump election interference.

@terryenglish @p @realcaseyrollins @gladicouldnthelp yeah. Trump and Bernie both losing would be maximum salt - but that's not going to happen. Either Trump or Bernie will be 2020 president.
@realcaseyrollins
And if they dont nominate him I'll just write in my own name. I'm not 35 yet but I dont care

Or I could write in McAfee. That's what I did in 2016 lmao
@mewmew @p @gladicouldnthelp @terryenglish
@dielan @gladicouldnthelp @p @realcaseyrollins @terryenglish it does in the primary tho :blobcatthink:

if you live in a non-swing state you're better off voting for a third party who better represents you if you don't like the nominee
@mewmew
Yeah that's the plan. If the establishment actually conceeds and nominated Bernie I wouldn't mind voting for him. I lost faith in the LP when they passed up on McAfee for Johnson. He was unironically a great choice for 2016
@gladicouldnthelp @p @realcaseyrollins @terryenglish

@dielan It'll be nice to have a candidate to offer real change. I will admit that back in 2016 I had hopes that Trump would at least try and be some sort of change. I should've known when I saw that picture of him and Obama together, Trump looking like a deer in the headlights was all talk and he was. @mewmew @p @realcaseyrollins @gladicouldnthelp

@terryenglish @dielan @p @realcaseyrollins @gladicouldnthelp Agree with this. Supported Bernie in 2016 and was very disappointed at what the "Democratic" party did - if they played fair and he still lost then I would've been more supportive of Clinton but they were so insecure about their candidate they ended up fucking them over and now we have Trump. I don't fault people for voting Trump in 2016 after having supported Bernie either - I disagreed but I was pretty pissed at the dems too.
@mewmew @terryenglish @dielan @gladicouldnthelp @p @realcaseyrollins my dad voted for bernie in the primaries, then hated hillary enough to vote for trump later
he went from moderate to very right wing in the following years as he switched all his news to conservative sources
@freon @dielan @gladicouldnthelp @p @realcaseyrollins @terryenglish Yeah, sad really.

I've heard the Joe Rogan episode has convinced a lot of conservatives back to Bernie.

@freon I guess it just goes to show how little daylight there is between the Democrats and Republicans at this point. @mewmew @p @realcaseyrollins @gladicouldnthelp @dielan

@terryenglish @freon @mewmew
Yeah seriously like how do you swing opinions around like that. Sounds like really weak principles to me. People are allowed to change opinions but that shouldn't be such an easy thing to force
@p @realcaseyrollins @gladicouldnthelp
@dielan @mewmew @gladicouldnthelp @realcaseyrollins @terryenglish Did you catch the debates? They were way better than the presidential ones. I think McAfee would have actually had a chance. (Johnson was impossible.)
@p
He was the perfect guy to run in 2016. He would have stolen all of Trumps meme magic
@gladicouldnthelp @mewmew @realcaseyrollins @terryenglish
@realcaseyrollins @dielan @mewmew @gladicouldnthelp @terryenglish He was more charismatic and she was, like, resentful that she even had to go through the whole "election" process.
@terryenglish @mewmew @realcaseyrollins @gladicouldnthelp @dielan Ha, did you hear about her trashing the campaign office the night she lost? Must have been a normal thing because her husband had already gotten in the car and bolted when the numbers from Pennsylvania started rolling in.
Show newer
@dielan @gladicouldnthelp @mewmew @realcaseyrollins @terryenglish People be looking at Trump and Clinton and, like, "Oh...no, I wanna listen to the drug-trafficking hacker with the harem and the automatic rifles. That guy fucks."
@realcaseyrollins @p @gladicouldnthelp @terryenglish so? I stand by what I said. If Bernie is the nominee, he's gonna be the president. Otherwise, Trump is.
@mewmew @gladicouldnthelp @realcaseyrollins That's assuming equal salt production for each base. You saw what kind of stuff (R)s were posting when Obama was president. (And if you didn't, just check Gab. They're all still posting the same shit.) Nobody's gonna be literally shaking rn. You're not gonna have salt like this iconic source of sodium if Trump loses, but you might if Berno "Would've Won" Sandar does:
nooooo.mp4

@p @mewmew @gladicouldnthelp Well certain pro-Trumpers are more than eager to take up arms over the election being stolen from him

@realcaseyrollins @mewmew @gladicouldnthelp Oh, they say that, man. I ain't got beat with a tiki torch for miscegenating yet. The guys that are on that team, they don't like Trump any more anyway. (From what I gather, they're pissed off that he hasn't bombed Israel and eliminated the gay.) Like, the DailyStormer unironically endorsed Berno, they're feeling the Born.

(If Bornie gets the nomination, though, I'm totally watching the debates this time. He and Trump both have distinct regional accents, it'll be funny to watch them jabber back and forth. The only way it could be better is if the (D) nominee picks a Bostonian or Maine--like deep Maine, like practically Nova Scotian--running mate.)
@p @gladicouldnthelp @realcaseyrollins that's why Sanders and Trump losing would have maximum salt
@mewmew @gladicouldnthelp @realcaseyrollins I don't know, if Biden wins it's like..."Huh. Okay. I guess." I don't think anyone would really be *that* upset. He's just a regular politician. He does say some wacky shit, but :godemperor: set the bar too high for that to matter.

@p @gladicouldnthelp @realcaseyrollins look at how salty Trump supporters were when he won. Him losing would be exponentially more salty.

@mewmew @p @realcaseyrollins @gladicouldnthelp I think they'd both be pretty salty. It's moved out of the realm of reasonable to insane now. The difference between party members is like the difference between friendly jabs at Canada vs Sicario style Mexican bloodbaths. There is this insane amount of animosity between the hardliners who can't understand the other side at all.

@p @gladicouldnthelp @realcaseyrollins You didn't see Trump supporters claiming the election was rigged?

@mewmew @p @gladicouldnthelp I saw that a mile away, 24 hours before the election conservatives were worrying Hillary would collude with the Russians to beat lol. From then on I didn't believe any of the collusion hooey from either side.

@mewmew @gladicouldnthelp @realcaseyrollins Yeah, but it wasn't a lot of salt. They weren't claiming to be in fear for their lives. They weren't screaming in the streets.

@p @mewmew @gladicouldnthelp I think at least a few would be willing to rage in the streets with some semis and shotguns tho

@realcaseyrollins @mewmew @gladicouldnthelp Maybe, but they would be anyway, I think. Like, there were black bloc dudes trashing shit when Obama got elected, too, just not the same numbers as when Trump did.
