@realcaseyrollins go ahead. But also fwiw last five times I did the "scan" test on my radio (hit scan, then tally each time it stops for either male or female voice heard) I'm still averaging between 0-1 out of all stations at any given time playing a female voice.

@realcaseyrollins yes. That means each time the scanner stopped, it was a male voice. By the time I was back to the original station it started on, I had heard either no female voices or one. On one occasion I heard two. Majority of the time I hear zero female voices on a full cycle.

@WildWestWitch Well that's interesting. I wonder which stations you have around you; if none of them are "Top 40" pop hits stations, or Christian Worship Music channels (bleghh) then that might influence it. Particularly, if none of the pop stations are owned by iHeartMedia.

I mean, if you go to right now, and look at the top songs on the radio, yes, most of them have male vocalists, but a whole lot of them are women, and the number 1 song (Don't Start Now by Dua Lipa) has not only been the top song for three straight weeks, but has been on the chart for 19 weeks.

The "scan" test isn't really an empirical test that is proof of anything beyond your personal experience. I (probably) don't live where you live, and guess what? The stations here have plenty of female vocalists, especially on the side of (again, bleghh).

@realcaseyrollins it's got nothing to do with billboards and honestly your mansplaining is such a put off I've lost all desire to converse with you. Putting you on mute. Ciao.
