@terryenglish @shampoobottle @a7 no, they are not, because the Republican party has gone absolutely insane over the past ten years.
@terryenglish @a7 @shampoobottle Democrats are what Republicans were a few years back, but Republicans now are far crazier.

@mewmew The Republican party is milquetoast as fuck in most regards, except for some holdover religous issues that no one actually cares about anymore. @terryenglish @a7

@shampoobottle @mewmew @terryenglish@blob.cat @a7 Not even a lot of those lol

Ain't no Republicans talking about gay marriage nowadays

@realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @mewmew @terryenglish there is the abortion issue, but while im extremely far left and could be described a socialist i dont like abortion so i agree with them there.

@a7 @mewmew @terryenglish@blob.cat @shampoobottle Abortion is the only religious issue mainstream GOP member care about.

I think this is why the Religious Right is viewed as extreme by many; they're the only ones that are still railing against gay marriage.

@realcaseyrollins @a7 @terryenglish @shampoobottle The religious right is viewed as extreme because the policies they take are all virtue signalling.

@mewmew @terryenglish@blob.cat @shampoobottle @a7 Really? The policies? I would argue, more like their motives.

But I could see that, for those who want gay sex, sodomy, adultery, etc. banned

@realcaseyrollins @terryenglish @shampoobottle @a7 I'm talking about being anti-abortion, anti-sex ed, and anti-birth control which is 100% virtue signalling - especially when they don't support simple welfare programs or healthcare for all which would save a significant amount of lives.

@mewmew @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @terryenglish I dunno, some, a lot of democrat voters use to be catholic before abortion stuff

@a7 @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @terryenglish if someone is anti-abortion but pro-sex ed, contraception, and for universal healthcare, then I don’t think they are hypocritical. that’s my position. nearly no one likes abortion

@mewmew
Not hypocritical.

Just not very bright. A woman has a right to choose. Not all women who become pregnant want to be pregnant. Its their choice. Using a wire coat-hanger is extremely dangerous and this is not 1830.

A real man should be able to accept that and move on.

Also there are enough people on this planet. In fact it could do with a lot less for a functional societies moving forward.

(No we don't think the virus is good).

@terryenglish @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @a7

@dsfgs @mewmew @terryenglish @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @a7 I'm pretty far from conservative, but do you not find it strange that (outside of instances of rape) a self-inflicted consequence can be opted-out of by...harming someone else? I don't think it's particularly moral to harm someone because you did something you didn't want to deal with the consequences of and decided to harm someone else to get rid of the product of your actions.

Outside of cases where the mother is likely going to lose her life, and outside of instances where she didn't consent, it seems rather...strange, to have a view that harming others is okay to get out of the consequences of your actions.
@kick @dsfgs @a7 @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @terryenglish I don't disagree with anything you're saying - that's not why I support legal abortions.
@mewmew @a7 @dsfgs @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @terryenglish I wasn't asking *you*, I'm fairly certain I know why you support them, and while I probably disagree with you strongly on at least a few levels, I do largely understand where you're coming from. However, I do believe the person I was replying to has a view I don't quite understand, and so I offered a bit of my perspective while also inviting them to share their own.
@mewmew @a7 @dsfgs @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @terryenglish I am curious, on your end, however, what's the last point you'd consider one "okay"?
@kick @a7 @dsfgs @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @terryenglish interesting question. probably when it would be an easier procedure to give birth to the baby and keep it alive than to abort it
@mewmew @a7 @dsfgs @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @terryenglish My guess at where your viewpoint lies, then, must not be correct. Strange.
@mewmew @a7 @dsfgs @realcaseyrollins @shampoobottle @terryenglish Far enough from where I presumed it would be that the point is maybe moot.

@kick
The woman cannot be compelled to continue to form a person inside her.

Basically it sounds like you are saying that a person cannot express their love or affection in a sexual way (ie. #sexuality) without risking being burdened with raising a #child, likely destroying her plans for her life and adding to the 80 million of #unwantedBirths on a #fragileEcosystem at breaking point.

We use hashtags for valuable searchability, yes.

What even is the point of that picture lol

Is it trying to deny that a fetus has its own body?
