Does Microsoft ever register an international patent just for the lols?
Because a patent with the number 060606, describing using body activity scanning tech that senses "a brain wave or body heat emitted from the user" to have people mine cryptocurrency through completing server issued tasks "such as viewing advertisement or using certain internet services" is pretty wacky.
Even for Microsoft, this has to be a troll, right?

Okay so this #patent is basically the #prequal to #TheMatrix.
The only thing left for #Microsoft to do, is block out the sun. Do they have a patent for that yet?
It's disturbing that they are trying to take ownership of #bitcoin.
a) #cryptoMining is a service, you can't patent a service.
b) bitcoin is #copyleft,
c) they claim that this tech can plug into any #crypto but their assertion in the preamble [0002] that a #cryptocurrency can be centralised is scary.

I think the point is that the user will run a #cryptominer while consuming "#entertainment" or #advertising. The device will use biometrics to ensure that you are consuming such and give "rewards" to the specific user.
Its combining two technologies fairly predictably, so the #monopoly/#proprietary factor is a concern. The #biometrics can be used to get detailed insights into the #motivations of the user/#consumer.

There's two more reasons why this patent attempt(?) is garbage.
d) using #biometrics for security as it relates to #cryptocurrencies *is a #naturalProgression* of the #technology. Anyone who has thought about how a #welfareSystem, or even a secure #cryptoWallet might work would come to an understanding that a degree of physical #identification (albeit #secure and benign) is desirable. So its not an #invention but basic #logic),

e) our #biometrics should be able to be *freely* used by us. Sure #Microsoft is welcome to #copyright their code if they want, but how can they thing that they own the biometric data that a #sovereign individual produces (unless we are not sovereign, hence the reference to neofeudalism),

All we know is they are considering the melding of crypto-mining with various forms of stimuli and biometrics. Not only that they seem to have ambitions to control technology that centralises a monetary system.
As we said earlier today, if The Matrix had a prequal, this would be it.
We're so thankful that alternatives to Windows are actually better and easier to use.
