people need to learn from the lack of prosecutions (more like lack thereof) of these rioters if they plan on making abortion illegal since for awhile at least people will still commit abortions after it's made illegal

@realcaseyrollins abortions will always happen. the difference in legality is whether it's safe or incredibly traumatic.
@realcaseyrollins note: even safe abortions can be very traumatic. but it certainly helps to not have the risk of dying and no anaesthesia or pain relief, or having someone stab your insides on the backstreet

@Ox Yeah, that's true. I never took "people will still get them" as a seriously legitimate rebuttal to the prolife cause but it's definitely something that needs to be considered from a prosecution standpoint

I'm on my 3rd pass and I can't make sense of it either. Please assist.
@realcaseyrollins @yuri

The "lack of (lack of) prosecutions" is a weird double negative which would mean there was an abundance of prosecutions, but I think you intended the opposite.

@death
Basically that prolifers who want to abolish abortion should consider how prosecution of people who commit the crime will be handled, considering that many people will continue to get abortions at first. And as we are seeing with the rioters, when a large group of people commit a particular crime, the government tends to look the other way.
@yuri

@realcaseyrollins @death If abortion were ever made illegal on a federal level (it won't be) there would immediately arise a group of states that would not only refuse to enforce the ban, but would openly advertise themselves as safe havens for women's reproductive rights.
@yuri @realcaseyrollins

Yeah, I don't see that line moving, there's just so much sitting inertia. There are certainly more pressing issues than the specter of muh body muh choice take-backs anyway. My usual abortion clinic is in an autonomous zone now and I can't afford the entrance fee to pay Killer Mike and he's getting pissed off, for instance.
