I think it could be possible for #Parler to succeed is if they adopt #Fediverse software that already works--perhaps hiring one to make software that looks like theirs but federates--and migrate to it. That's really where #Gab failed, the devs didn't know what they were doing. If #Parler uses better devs, who have a proven track record of making good software, they could succeed where #Gab failed
@alex
Perhaps. Just wish more established folks like #Trump and #LaraLoomer would join the #Fediverse. That would pull leftist activists like #JimAcosta, which would pull left-wing organizations like #CNN and #MSNBC, which would then pull right wing groups like #FoxNews, which would then probably bring over a lot of pop culture and celebrity figures, and then everyone else would join, too
People don't realize the effect #Trump joining the #Fediverse would create
@alex
P.S. I do realize that what I see as success for the #Fediverse is different than what some users want...I would like to see the endgame of the #Fediverse causing the downfall of #Twitter
Sounds like #Parler is HUGE
I don't feel the need to join, but it'd be cool to follow some of the people over there from here. #TimPool actually just joined
