Funny thing actually

I'd love to see the depression and anxiety rates of those who were homeschooled vs public school vs private school

IDK maybe there's no relation, I'm just spitballing here, but that would certainly be interesting to see

@realcaseyrollins I was thinking about that too, because I was thinking about if I had kids would I want to homeschool them: yes... but what are the stats?

I actually looked up a subreddit /r/homeschooled thinking there might be horror stories, but nope, couldn't find anything.

WHAT??? That can't be right, I know many people from my co-op days who hated being homeschooled. I disliked only the social aspect. Perhaps is different outside of the religious community tho

But yes in general sometimes parents decide to homeschool because they're very controlling and borderline emotionally abusive, which thankfully hasn't been my experience (to my knowledge; if you're raised with something in isolation you tend to think it's normal, y'know?) but that's certainly been the experience with some of my siblings' friends IIRC

I've been thinking about this too. But frankly based on my experience, i don't think I'd want my kid to be homeschooled in the absence of something like a co-op, so he or she can have social interaction

@realcaseyrollins yeah a co-op would be cool for sure, because I agree it's important, but would think there's a lot of homeschooling parents not thinking this way at all :( -- leading to the unhappy products.
