First , now .

Wouldn't it be cool if we're living in the middle of a spiritual revival rn?

@realcaseyrollins I googled it around, about religion?

Unsure if this is a good thing or not. Altho', one thing for sure is that with the religion becoming unpopular, pseudo-religion seems to have replaced it. The whole social justice thing is extremely similar to one and a lot of their practitioners have turned into crazy zealots

The question is, is there a sort of people who cannot properly function without a religion? If yes, then yeah, religion becoming unpopular has lead a lot of people to fall into pseudo-religion, and not good ones at that

Hell, apparently lately, even Richard Dawkins, basically the father of moden Atheism, is defending religion I heard
@coolboymew @realcaseyrollins

atheistic religions do exist

these 'pseudo-religion's
are just leaderless atheistic religions
@coolboymew @realcaseyrollins

Animism is an example of an atheistic religion
they do not have any gods.
@loganer @realcaseyrollins must be minor, never heard of any and a religion without a god seems like weird contradiction
@coolboymew @realcaseyrollins its actually a really old religion.
it predates most current known religions.
@coolboymew @realcaseyrollins

you know how "native americans" are said to have worship the sky and the rocks and well everything natural.

well that is animism .
@loganer @realcaseyrollins but wasn't this still some sort of religion by worshiping spirits and smaller gods? A lot like what Japan had
@coolboymew @realcaseyrollins

spiritual essences that everything contains.

there was no 'gods' there was only the spirits
@coolboymew @realcaseyrollins

i personally don't subscribe to any religion .
but animism is definitely an interesting one.

i would definitely not subscribe to anything past Buddhism .
if i was forced to pick one it would probably be animism.
though my family history has been christian.
@loganer @coolboymew @realcaseyrollins The closest thing I have to a religion is the Baha'i faith, but I can't even subscribe to that, I don't think. I believe in a god, or demiurge or whatever you want to call it, though and I consider my beliefs more or less panentheist.
@loganer @coolboymew @realcaseyrollins it wasn't literal worship it was an overall sense of respect for the land and animals, long term sustainable thinking. A better word would be reverence.
@coolboymew @realcaseyrollins there are literally three Unitarian universalist churches driving distance from me right now
