Do not tell your friends to join the #Fediverse. Pick an instance, then go to them and say "join this social network website."
When people are sick of #Parler, they will only join another #Parler. They won't want to be told to join a protocol.
@realcaseyrollins@gameliberty.club that hard , i don't have any accounts on other peoples fediverse servers so i don't know what their like .
and i definitely don't want friends of friends of friends and so on joining .
this poor computer and network would just die 😆
@realcaseyrollins@gameliberty.club i actually was running a #Pleroma instance.
i couldn't even get mastodon running at all not along have a proper server running from it.
but moved to #Misskey for the "cloud storage" functionality
@realcaseyrollins@gameliberty.club i'll be honest though , i don't suggest setting up a misskey instance just yet for the normies .
it was a pain in the butt thanks to the poor documentation but i eventually got it working.
it only took me literally an entire day though 😆 .
i have to say not a fan of the Deck view but the default view is pretty nice.

you see i'm kind of running residential netowrking here and on my own hardware so its not exactly the best setup in the world.
