Reason is that a term like "person of color" deprives that person of any individuality since those of african heritage are now lumped with those of east asian heritage or those of west asian heritage. It's having different colors of play-doh and saying "oh...saying this play-doh is such color is offensive, so will mix them all in a big ball of browinsh blob, so now no play-doh can be offended for being refereed by its color". So saying "people of color" is incredibly dehumanizing in onto itself.

Modern definitions would have you believe that a man in a dress with a festering wound between his legs is a woman. That definition of species would also mean that neanderthals and denisovans were the same species as modern humans, as they interbred with humans until being completely absorbed. It would also mean that polar bears and grizzly bears are the same species, as well as dogs and coyotes.

Canine and feline hybrids, however, are fertile. Savannah cats are hybrids between domestic cats and servals, and they can breed true. The same is the case for most of the other feline hybrids on the chart above.
I'd wager that all the felines are genetically compatibility, and only size differences keep a housecat and a tiger from breeding.
