@ArdainianRight There's a point at which user friendly (good, necessary) becomes retard friendly (don't, very bad, plz avoid) @MoeBritannica

@wolfbro @ArdainianRight @MoeBritannica
User friendly: The computer does what I expect it to do when I tell it to do something, or fails in a graceful and informative way so I know what went wrong.

Retard friendly: The computer does everything for me according to factory-set instructions. I have no control unless I heavily modify the device at risk of permanently damaging it.

Of course, literally every manufacturer has unfortunately decided to go with option 2. :reimu_sigh:

@Giganova8
>the computer does what I expect it to when I tell it to do something
and doesn't pull this genie "haha, I did *exactly* what you said, but not what you wanted" shit that older computers used to. (Yes, I am a zoomie, but I used Win95 as well.)
>and informative way so I know what went wrong
This part is especially important.
Enough of this "oopsie woopsie, we did a fucky wucky" nonsense, give me a fucking error message I can search so I can find out what the fuck happened. Modern stuff doing this is fucking stupid.

And the only thing more infuriating is the good old standby of "blank loading screen with no indication of activity". :hana_disgust:

Is it doing something? Is it working? Is it waiting for something else to happen? Deleting everything on the disk? Crashed silently and locked up the whole system and now I have to powercycle the whole damn computer? Who knows! It is a Mystery~ :yuudachi_tired:

Few things annoy me more than such intentionally vague things like that.
"Wait a while"
How long? Hours? Minutes? Days? @ArdainianRight @Giganova8 @MoeBritannica
