@coolboymew I'm still gonna stick with PC gaming. But I think Microsoft has the right idea on how to retake the throne for next generation. Sony kinda one-upped them on the PS4 mostly due to how badly they handed the Xbox One launch back in 2013 trying to be heavy into multimedia instead of the games.

I still feel luke warm about the nintendo switch. I still have a Wii U. Outside of Mario Odyssey and maybe Luigi's Mansion 3 I can't think of anything else I want on switch.

How should Nintendo have treated the Wii U? I love the console, but it was a colossal failure and Nintendo couldn't lower the price because they overproduced and basically had to sell their inventory for the entire generation. I don't think any other company would have bothered to put out as many good titles for it as Nintendo did.
I like the Switch, but it just doesn't feel like A Nintendo console anymore. Boring system menus, boring shop, limited input methods compared to the Wii U.
But the biggest slap on the face is paid online. Just to occasionally have a round of Mario Kart online, I need to pay for a subscription, despite the games being more expensive than on other platforms.

It's probably the most popular alternative to official online console services. You would probably have a hard time finding people with niche games, but I'm pretty sure there would be enough when it comes to games like Mario Kart or Smash.

I don't have the time right now to read through it, but I doubt it's a viable replacement. Most people are lazy, including me. I doubt I'd find many people there, even for something as popular as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It was just an example, it gets worse the more niche or old a game is.
