Yo, @meowski , what up my fellow person of light? The advice you gave me regarding the no-Internet kernel set me in the right direction.
I ran the commands you gave me and printed them to files to then compare with the same commands on a working kernel. So, there were like 4000 lines missing on the not-working one. And I didn't understand a thing.
But I also ran the one showing network devices and saw that only ethernet was gone, so I search for that. Turns out there was a package missing. Something starting with "linux-modules-extra-[something]" that has the ethernet drivers, but since it is not a required dependency, the system did not install it. So I tried installing the version for the new kernel from within the old one, rebooted, and now it's all working.
