Now it's broadened to a vague identity that includes "I looked at femboy lewds once and liked it".
There's people out there who identify as g*y without any lifestyle elements, their entire identity is built around gay porn (which is fake and idealized to an absurd degree) or one night stands.
Especially in hentai, loads of yaoi is just straight porn with an extra penis drawn on.
If your standard is that someone stop finding idealized forms attractive, you are setting up conditions that are impossible to meet. If it is "stop banging five strangers a night" (like early bathhouse culture) then it's just addiction treatment.
In other words, redefining it as an identity (and actually all in people's heads, "born that way" rhetoric has flown the coop) instead of a set of actions both helps with recruitment and makes it impossible to "leave" the lifestyle. It also allows a narrative of fear to be painted, where "genocide" is around every corner.
We always knew there was no such thing as born gay, we just got shouted down by liberal women about it like with every other encroachment of degeneracy.

I'm starting to think that being gay, lesbian, or bisexual is really just a fetish much like how people sexualize non-sexual body parts. It's not a choice, but it's probably not something you're born with either. Unfortunately, sexual fetishes are permanent once you acquire them, at least to my knowledge.

It's probably the same argument that gay conversion therapy changes conduct and not sexual orientation.
I can't find any peer-research articles though. Just a bunch of blog, forum, and Q&A site posts. Not good enough sources probably.

There’s a fun but subtle difference in the two:
“Celebate” implies a choice, hence why a term like “incel” exists to explicitly define a non-choice situation. But in either case, they’re terms implying desire exists, but is not being executed on.
“Aromantic Asexual”, meanwhile explicitly states a complete lack of desire entirely.
Take that as you will, there’s something in this that’s activating a few almonds for me, not sure exactly what.

The are only two reasons why someone would want sex but not have it:
- They're unable to get it
- They want it but have better reasons not to follow their impluses
The first is unacceptable because it implies that some people might be in that situation through no fault of their own, and since sex is seen as a fundamental spiritual need this is too disturbing for them to seriously retain. The person has to be a moral failure.
The second violates the worldview imposed by the erotic pseudo-spiritual fog that blankets the whole paradigm and keeps people firmly bolted down to the ground. Although world-worship (paganism) heavily and even primarily features sexual elements and themes, there are still ascetic and celibate traditions within those systems. They're used to conserve/channel bodily energies and things like that. Not even that kind of shallow celibacy is allowed now, since that's basically what the nofap/noporn stuff is (chastity through worldly and material justifications). We see those guys get attacked too.
Our biggest immediate enemies aren't even the crazed trans groom crews that people are talking about. They're the people in our own circles throwing around the "you'll get ball cancer if you don't masturbate" garbage and making sure that every uncompromised space is tolerant of pornography. They're who keeps the roads open that the trannies and their muses use to get around
